Different Types of Fish to Keep in an Aquarium
Fish make for wonderful pets, as long as you care for them well. Having an aquarium adds a lot of style to your living room. But there are those who believe that aquariums are hard to maintain. But once you manage to keep exotic fish healthy and hygienic in the house, you shall enjoy such immense beauty. This calls for you pick only fish that is easy to care for. Danios are among the small, active and colorful kinds. These are commonly presented in red, yellow and green. They may be lively, but are not aggressive and can therefore coexist with other species. You need to place them in a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly, however, can live in any water. This makes it easier to care for them. They are commonly seen as platinum colored, dusty gold or black. They eat mostly flake and pellet foods, bloodworms, and brine shrimp. They are social, but do not do well here there are large fish.
Platies are the more colorful kind, mostly in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. They can be bred to produce more color blends. They are calmer and thus do well with similarly behaved fish. They are small, where the males are the smaller sized ones. They do well in warmer water and eat flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
You will find Betta fish in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They prefer warmer water that it changed frequently.
Neon Tetra have silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They also live well with other species.
Guppies are the most playful, and you shall see them breeding a lot. If you keep some, it is only a matter of time before you have a full family. Their females grow much bigger, almost twice the males. The males are however the brighter colored ones.
You shall tell a Rainbow fish by the way there are colored. They shall then grow more colorful when they settle in their new aquarium. They are not aggressive or that much active.
Glofish are like Danios, save for their neon shine. They are also less active fish.
These are some of the fish that shall give you a great looking aquarium, with minimal maintenance work.
